Pete who lives at Malabat very kindly took the alternator from his Tourer and we managed to fit it in....AND IT ALL WORKS ! !

We are now back on for Inzane and will hopefully meet up at Lyon

Jane and I are at 32730 Malabat (North of Tarbes), We set off for Nimes this morning and the Alternator started making a rattling noise and is no longer charging. We came back to our freinds house and dismantled it. Looked ok so cleaned it up and put it back, checked fuses etc, but still not working.

We have breakdown insurance which will get us back to UK, but would miss Inzane, has anyone any advice which will help please.

Hi, Maybe someone could help Pete G a vrccuk member who has recently moved to Marciac north of the Pyrenees to live, he seems to be having trouble getting insurance, his message is below....


Hi All, I am having trouble registering the bike in France and Axa the insurance company most of my french insurances are with will only insure it for 1 month and in that time it must be reregistered in France, so at the moment not insured at all.Does anybody know of an english insurance company that will give an extended green card or does anybody have a French VRCC member contact who could point me at a french specialist insurance company. The reason for coming to France was to get away from all the hassle but this is giving me some aggro! Thanks as always for any input

Today we had the annual Valkyrie meeting at the Ace Cafe London, Its an informal meeting to have a traditional English breakfast...sausage, egg, bacon, beans, tomatoes & toast and have a good chat about Valkyries & this and that. About 35 Valks turned up which is a good number for the UK.

One of our members Pete is looking to settle in the South of France, he is coming over in October with his Motorhome towing the Valkyrie, to spend some time looking for properties. I have told Pete about the warm welcome you all gave Jane and myself at the Rocamandour Meeting, I am sure that you will welcome Pete to France when he arrives.

I agree most of the people deserve what they get, I feel sorry for the Dog and Donkey that seemed to get mixed up and of course the Bull, whatever happens to him in the end.

Maybe some of you were there at the Euromeat! in 2003, (not 2002) it was the first time I went to a Valkyrie meeting, so to me it seems like the normal thing to do at a meeting...not that I joined in .

We had the Meeting of Friends in Wales last weekend, about 40 bikes, great weather all weekend, (it can get a bit wet in Wales)and many friends from Europe. Thanks John & FiFi for the update on Yann's progress, glad he got there safe, hope he does not get bitten by the mosquito's (or gnats as we call them in the UK) as I hear there are plenty of them living by the lakes in Finland when its warm.

We went to the Chatweekend Meeting in the Ardennes last weekend, this is organised by our Belgian and Netherlands VRCC friends. Had a great weekend with a couple of good rideouts stopping for visits at a Museum, Butchery, Brewery and the largest bull in Belgium (maybe Europe).

A smaller event but should be good fun

We had our annual Treasure Hunt meeting last weekend in the Cotswolds, a great weekend organised by Steve & Sarah Skarrat, who put in a lot of work in setting out a route with questions to be answered such as dates on old buildings etc... The winner gets the trophy for a year. We came 4th this year, (but won it last year, better try harder next time).

Yea I should have added a few raindrops to make it look more British, It did feel a bit strange as the temperature was up to 25 degrees, It will be back to the normal 15 degrees in a few days time..

We have a regular meeting at the Ace Cafe, London on the last Sunday of each month. The Cafe has been a bikers venue since the golden days of the 1950s when British Bikes were supreme, closed in 69 it was re opened in 2001 and now hods regular events and many clubs have regular meets there. Maybe the area is not quite so good for rides in the country but you can get a good traditional English greasy breakfast !

Hi Six Guns...If you go to France I can assure you that a you will get a great reception from the VRCCFR and make many new friends, We are from the UK and met many for the firt time last weekend, The roads in France are in much better condition than those in the UK with very little traffic, and the scenery is stunning.

Many thanks for the English Corner, its a great idea and we hope to use it a lot to keep in touch with our new friends in France and let you all know of events in the UK. I still have not cleaned the Dordogne and Lot insects from the valk, which I must do before our next meeting at the Ace Cafe in London this weekend. As we have a space on your Forum, may we have Calais back which we lost in 1558....
